Friday, May 10, 2019 @ 2:08 PM | By John Chunn

Spiegel Sohmer announced that two new lawyers, Talia Bensoussan and Alessandra Lubrina have joined the Montreal firm.

“We are thrilled to welcome Talia and Alessandra to our firm. The addition of these talented new lawyers, the fifth and the sixth since the beginning of the year, attests to our firm’s determination to play a pivotal role in the success of businesses in Quebec,” Morris Jacobson, managing shareholder, said in the firm’s press release.

Bensoussan practises in the areas of corporate, commercial and banking law. Her expertise is primarily transactional in nature and involves complex mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations as well as venture capital and private equity financings. She is also frequently involved in the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements, particularly in the private financing field.

Before joining Spiegel Sohmer, she worked at a Canadian national firm.

Lubrina’s principal fields of practice are civil litigation and family law.

Passionately engaged in politics, Lubrina is a member of the Legal Committee of the Liberal Party of Quebec (LPQ). She also ran for office during the 2018 provincial general election. Upon completion of her bachelor and master’s degrees from University Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, she pursued her equivalencies in Quebec law from the University of Montréal and subsequently became a member of the Quebec bar in 2017.
