Mortimer Khoraych adds workplace investigations associate

Mortimer Khoraych PC announced that Akif Nomani has joined the firm as a workplace investigations associate.

According to the firm’s press release, Nomani is an experienced and trusted investigator, and joins the Toronto firm having developed a practice focused on workplace and institutional investigations early in his career.

He previously conducted complex investigations on behalf of the Correctional Services Oversight and Investigations Unit with the Ministry of the Solicitor General and is well-versed in the varied procedural and substantive challenges that often arise in high-stakes and high-profile investigations.

Nomani articled at the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, where he worked closely with coroner’s counsel in preparing for inquests, including participating in policy and planning meetings and negotiating and drafting inquest recommendations. He has also appeared before a coroner’s iquest in Ontario.
