Dentons announced that Arik Broadbent has joined the firm as senior associate and the Vancouver lead of the firm’s venture technology and emerging growth companies (VTEGC) group.

According to Dentons’ press release, Broadbent has extensive experience in the areas of debt and equity corporate finance, securities compliance, corporate governance and domestic and cross-border mergers and aquisitions (M&A). He received his juris doctor from the University of Western Ontario while concurrently completing a masters of business administration at the Richard Ivey School of Business and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2013.

“Arik is a welcome addition to the firm, not only for our colleagues, but also our clients,” said John Sandrelli, managing partner of Dentons’ Vancouver office. “His impressive track record and diverse experience will contribute to increasing the firm’s presence in one of Vancouver’s strongest growth industries. Arik’s sharp business acumen, coupled with his innovative, ‘big picture’ mindset, will further enhance our team’s competencies and service offering to our clients, and reinforce Dentons’ competitive standing in the Canadian and global legal markets.”

“We are pleased that Arik will be leading the VTEGC team in Vancouver,” said David Little, managing partner of Dentons’ Ottawa office and national lead of VTEGC. “In addition to his impressive experience, he is a sought-after speaker at universities and technology accelerator programs on the legal aspects of building and scaling emerging growth ventures, including presenting on angel and venture financing, employee equity compensation plans and exit strategies. Arik’s leadership will undoubtedly add value, not only to our Vancouver team, but to the firm as a whole.”
