New IP associate for Bereskin & Parr

Bereskin & Parr LLP announced that Suzie Suliman has joined the firm as an associate.

According to the firm’s press release, her practice focuses on general intellectual property (IP) matters, trademarks prosecution and litigation.

Suliman completed her juris doctor at Western University, with a concentration on IP, information and technology law. She completed her bachelor of engineering in electrical and biomedical engineering at McMaster University.

Suliman co-authored The Effects of the Madrid Protocol on Canadian Businesses (published in the Hamilton Law Association Journal), which summarized the proposed changes to Canadian trademarks legislation, its effect on Canadian businesses and how businesses should prepare for such changes.

In 2016, she was finalist of the Lenczner Slaght Advocacy Competition in Legal Ethics and Professionalism.
