New partner for Langlois lawyers

Langlois lawyers announced that Isabelle Desharnais is the firm’s newest partner.

According to the firm’s press release, her areas of practice include banking law, corporate finance, insolvency and financial restructuring. She also practises in the field of commercial litigation, specializing particularly in matters linked to fraud.

“As a seasoned professional in the practice of complex commercial litigation, Isabelle is recognized for having extensive knowledge of legal matters linked to the financial sector. Her appointment demonstrates our will to recruit and to provide our clients with professionals whose high level of expertise in leading-edge sectors drives them to excel,” said Jean-François Gagnon, chief executive officer.

Before joining the firm, Desharnais was also a partner at a national law firm. Prior to that, she worked as a research analyst at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, with lawyers and policy advisers of the Office of Values and Ethics. She was involved in drafting internal policies for federal public service employees, particularly the Values and Ethics Code and the Policy on Internal Disclosure of Information Concerning Wrongdoing in the Workplace.
