Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) announced that it is seeking nominations for the Sidney B. Linden Award. The deadline for submission is Nov. 15, at 5 p.m.

According to the LAO’s press release, the award is named after Sidney B. Linden, the former chief judge of the Ontario Court of Justice and the first chair of Legal Aid Ontario, who has been involved with legal aid for over 35 years.

LAO created the award to honour exceptional individuals who have demonstrated a long-standing commitment to helping low‑income people, and given their time, expertise, and/or service to ensuring access to justice in Ontario.

Lawyers in the private sector, community legal clinic staff, people who work at a Student Legal Aid Services Society, paralegals, academics, LAO staff lawyers and employees and other professionals are eligible for the award.

LAO asks that you complete the nomination form and send it to the LAO’s communications department.
