Panel urges law society to lead fight against racism

Concrete action to reduce racism in Ontario’s legal profession should begin with the industry’s main regulator, the Law Society of Upper Canada, according to recommendations recently presented to the law society.

The 13 recommendations were submitted to the law society’s Sept. 22 meeting of convocation by the Challenges Faced by Racialized Licensees Working Group, a task force established by the regulator four years ago to study the issue.
