Langlois lawyers announced that Simon Lemay has joined its Quebec City office. As a lawyer and trademark agent, he focuses his practice on both intellectual property (IP) law and business law.

According to the firm’s press release, Lemay has more than 20 years’ experience in trademark law, with a particular focus on the agri-food industry. He assists clients with respect to identifying, mitigating and managing major IP risks, as well as evaluating multiple business opportunities. As a trademark agent, he advises clients with applications pertaining to patents, trademarks and models across the province.

Early in his career, Lemay was assigned to several positions at a food processing company, including the position of director of legal services. He also distinguished himself by setting up an internal trademark management agency and was also entrusted with the management and protection of the intellectual property of this company.

Lemay is regularly invited to deliver IP lectures. In addition, his experience and training in the food industry prompted him to advise companies in this sector on issues of food quality management and food safety.
