Two associates join Blaney McMurtry

Blaney McMurtry announced that Joe Kelly and Victoria Mitrova have joined the firm as associates.

According to the firm’s website, Kelly’s litigation practice focuses on acting for public sector organizations. He has a particular interest in police law, financial crime and the overlap between civil and criminal law.

Kelly is dual-qualified, having practised in the U.K. before moving to Canada. He was previously an in-house lawyer for the Metropolitan Police Service in London where he had conduct of a wide range of matters including police liability, inquests, forced marriage orders, witness protection, proceeds of crime and counter-terrorism.

Mitrova’s litigation practice focuses on representing health care professionals in malpractice and errors and omissions matters, as well as defending life and disability insurance claims. She also has a developing practice representing health care professionals in regulatory matters including college complaints.

In her previous role at an insurance litigation boutique, Mitrova gained experience in a variety of insurance matters.
