Quebec firm BGO-Legal merges with Dunton Rainville

Quebec commercial boutique law firm BGO-Legal announced that it has merged with Quebec law firm Dunton Rainville

According to a press release, Dominique Gilbert, one of BGO-Legal’s founding partners, said: “My colleagues and I believe that merging with a firm of Dunton Rainville’s stature will significantly contribute to the optimization of our services in all our areas of activity and to the development of our business throughout Quebec.”

“We are very proud to continue our expansion in the cty of Sherbrooke and to welcome a dynamic team of experienced professionals whose reputation is well established, to our ranks,” said Yanick Tanguay, vice-chair of Dunton Rainville’s Executive Committee.

In 2017, Gilbert and Andrée-Anne Ouimette joined forces to establish a boutique commercial law firm. Today, BGO-Legal has 12 employees at its office in Sherbrooke, including the following five lawyers, Gilbert, Ouimette, Cynthia Coutu, Abelle L’Écuyer-Legault and Denis Luc Blouin.

Alexandre Dumas, currently a partner in Dunton Rainville's Montreal office, will join them shortly. Dumas will bring 20 years of experience in civil litigation and real estate law to the team.

“The BGO-Legal team is very excited by the prospect of being able to continue practising commercial law at Dunton Rainville, as it will provide us with access to much broader and more varied legal expertise for the benefit of our clients,” said Ouimette.

Dunton Rainville is a firm composed of nearly 250 individuals, including over 100 lawyers, notaries and labour relations advisers, who work in its offices in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, Joliette, Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and now Sherbrooke.
