Ottawa professor seen as making 'huge contribution' to refugee law in Canada

One of the nation’s strongest advocates for refugees is urging Canadians to continue their support for the millions of people around the world who are fleeing violence and persecution in their homelands.

University of Ottawa law professor Jennifer Bond says there is more to do one year after the body of a 3-year-old Syrian boy, Alan Kurdi, washed ashore in Turkey. The tragic images of the dead boy prompted a worldwide wave of emotion, motivating thousands of Canadians to sponsor Syrian refugee families.
