Alberta commission seeks public’s input on JP compensation

Alberta’s Justices of the Peace Compensation Commission is seeking the public’s input on compensation levels for the province’s justices of the peace. 

The independent commission was established in 2017 under Alberta’s Judicature Act to review and recommend the appropriate level of compensation for Alberta justices of the peace, for the period April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2021.

The commission is holding a public hearing Feb. 24-25 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Edmonton Law Courts building at 1A Sir Winston Churchill Square.
