Smart & Biggar adds three associates

Smart & Biggar announced that Noelle Engle-HardyDenise Felsztyna and Andrea Berenbaum are the newest associates at the intellectual property (IP) law firm.

According to the firm’s press release, Engle-Hardy’s litigation practice focuses on trademark and copyright disputes and includes proceedings before the Trademarks Opposition Board. 

Engle-Hardy, based in Toronto, has experience in a variety of IP areas including trademarks, copyright and digital media, industrial designs, marketing and advertising and patent law. She serves clients across a variety of industries including alcohol, food and beverage, luxury goods, clothing and cosmetics, consumer packaged goods, cannabis, casino and real estate development, franchise and fine art. 

Felsztyna joins the firm’s IP litigation practice group in Montreal.

In addition to her primary focus on copyright and trademark litigation, her expertise includes IP transactions and licensing, marketing and advertising law and due diligence for contracts and acquisitions. 

Berenbaum joins the firm’s patent practice group in Vancouver. Her practice focuses on chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology patents, and includes the drafting and prosecution of such patents. She provides opinions and conducts due diligence for her clients, which include academic institutions, research hospitals, startups and independent inventors across Canada. She also services large corporations and other patent agents in Canada and around the world working in industries like energy, oil and gas, cannabis, food and beverage, agricultural sciences, medical devices and nanotechnology.
