■ Andrew Elbaz has joined Minden Gross to chair its securities and capital markets group. Elbaz’s practice focuses on initial public offerings, public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures in a variety of industries.

■ Minden Gross has added two new associates, Danna Fichtenbaum and Steven Birken. Fichtenbaum joins the firm’s wills and estates litigation group and acts for high net worth clients on estate issues regarding challenges to wills, attorney and trustee accounts, guardianship applications and dependants’ relief claims. Birken will work with the commercial leasing group. His practice involves acting for commercial landlords and tenants in retail, office and industrial leasing matters.

■ Naomi Nind is a new partner in Gowling WLG’s firm-wide aviation, aerospace and defence group. Nind, who joins the firm’s Calgary office from Parlee McLaws, focuses on transactions involving the licensing, sale, purchase and financing of commercial, business and personal aircraft.

■ Elana Hahn has joined Norton Rose Fulbright’s Toronto office as a partner in the firm’s business law group. Hahn previously was a global practice leader for Dentons’ global capital markets group. Hahn focuses on structured finance, securitizations, derivatives and debt capital markets.

■ Charles Jung is a new associate at Oatley Vigmond. Jung has an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from the University of Guelph and a law degree from Queen’s University. He will be primarily focused on personal injury law.
