Cox & Palmer announced that the lawyers of a Charlottetown law firm have joined Cox & Palmer’s Charlottetown office.

According to Cox & Palmer’s press release, Macnutt & Dumont, a firm founded in 1982 by its current partners, James W. Macnutt, and Daphne E. Dumont, provides services to clients in the areas of real estate transactions, family law, employment law, general litigation and wills and estate planning.

“We are very excited about the move to Cox & Palmer,” said Dumont. “We share many values and commitments with our friends at Cox & Palmer and so the choice to join forces was a natural one. The transition has been smooth for us, and we promise the same for our valued clients.”

Robin Aitken, managing partner of the P.E.I. offices of Cox & Palmer, said “Jim Macnutt and Daphne Dumont have outstanding reputations in the community and have built an impressive practice and client base. Their firm is the longest still-continuing partnership in P.E.I. We are so pleased to have them as part of our Cox & Palmer team going forward, and we welcome all of their clients to our firm.”
