Fasken partner named chair of Quebec mining initiative’s board

SIDEX, a joint initiative of the Quebec government and the development capital investment fund Fonds de solidarité FTQ, announced that Frank Mariage, a partner in the Montreal office of Canadian law firm Fasken, has been appointed chair of its board of directors.

Mariage succeeds Élaine C. Phénix, who served as chair since the organization was established in 2001.

According to a press release, SIDEX and Fonds de solidarité FTQ’s mission is to invest in companies engaged in mineral exploration in Quebec to diversify the province’s mineral base.

Mariage practises in the areas of securities and corporate law, specializing in the mining sector, where he represents and advises mining and exploration companies in all types of transactions, both in Canada and abroad.
