The Law Society of Ontario (LSO) tribunal has begun accepting hard copy materials after physically closing its doors in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but is noting that hearings will continue to be held electronically for the foreseeable future.

As of July 13, parties may resume filing hard copy materials for the tribunal record. The tribunal, which processes, hears and decides regulatory cases about Ontario lawyers and paralegals, has operated remotely since March 16.

However, the tribunal says hearings will continue to take place via videoconference going forward. As of now, the tribunal has formally converted all in-person hearings scheduled until Sept. 4 to videoconference.
