Arbitration Place adds arbitrator/mediator

Arbitration Place announced that Jeffrey S. Leon, a senior litigation partner at Bennett Jones LLP in Toronto, has joined Arbitration Place as a member arbitrator and mediator to further his work in conducting arbitrations and mediations in Canada, the United States and internationally.

According to the press release from Arbitration Place, Leon has assisted clients for over 40 years in commercial, corporate, securities, directors and officers liability, product liability, professional negligence and administrative law matters. He recently completed a term as only the second Canadian president of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has been a prolific author, lecturer, panellist and teacher of trial skills.

A gold medallist from the University of Alberta, he received a master’s degree and a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Toronto. In 1979-80 he served as a law clerk to the chief justice of Ontario. He is a past president of The Advocates’ Society, a past chair of Pro Bono Ontario, a past chair of the Sopinka Cup Society and a fellow/member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the International Society of Barristers and the Commercial Bar Association (U.K.).
