Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench no longer accepting fax filing after August

Tuesday, July 28, 2020 @ 11:23 AM | By Ian Burns

The Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench has announced it will no longer accept filing by fax as of Sept. 1.

The clerk of the court will only accept filing by e-mail. At this time, paper filing (through drop boxes) is still available. For additional information on e-mail filing, see here.

According to the court’s announcement, a designated naming convention must be followed for all documentation sent to the court for filing. Effective Aug. 4, if the naming convention as outlined here is not followed, documents will be sent back unfiled, advising that the proper naming convention was not used.

Should this happen, individuals will be required to send a new e-mail, with the proper naming convention and will be required to reattach all documents you wish to be filed. The purpose of the designated naming convention allows for the immediate distribution of documents to the designated filing area, this will ensure faster processing of a filing request.
