Design board structure to fit the organization

Boards are often defined as being either co-operative, collective, working, administrative, policy, or governance. They may use a founder, advisory, fund-raising, patron or Carver model.

Different board structures and models can each be appropriate for an organization.

And as Shakespeare said: a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. However, if the smell is not so sweet — if the work of the board is becoming difficult, if there is disharmony or high turnover — it may be time to review the board structure...
