Dentons announced that Rhonda Johnson has joined its trusts, estates and wealth preservation group as partner in its Edmonton office.

According to the firm’s press release, Johnson provides trusts, estate planning and estate administration solutions advising individuals, trustees, business founders, including assisting clients with assets in B.C. and Alberta. Her practice includes drafting inter vivos and testamentary trusts, First Nations trusts, multiple wills planning, incapacity planning, charitable giving, wealth transfer strategies and multigenerational planning.

From 1990 until 2001, Johnson articled and practised with Dentons in Edmonton before moving to Vancouver Island to help start and run an  outdoor tourism business with a focus on fully guided sea kayak tours. She then went back to her roots and practised law on Vancouver Island, first as a solo practitioner and then with mid-sized firms, until returning to Dentons Canada in 2020.

“We are delighted to welcome back Rhonda to our best in class trusts, estates and wealth preservation team. She is an extremely talented lawyer whose extensive experience will be beneficial for our clients, particularly in navigating the current landscape of uncertainty. Adding experienced leaders to our team is part of our strategy to maintain our position as the leading global law firm in the Edmonton market,” said Fausto Franceschi, managing partner of Dentons’ Edmonton office.
