Tachie new acting president of Canadian Association of Black Lawyers

Raphael Tachie has been named acting president of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) following the appointment of former CABL president Lori Anne Thomas to the Ontario Court of Justice.

According to a statement from the CABL, Tachie is senior counsel with TD Bank Group. Prior to joining the financial services industry, he worked as a wealth preservation and estates and trusts lawyer with Bull, Housser and Tupper LLP (now Norton Rose Fulbright LLP) in Vancouver and Blake, Cassels and Graydon LLP in Toronto. Tachie earned his law degree from the University of Victoria and his master of business administration degree from Simon Fraser University.
