Gowling WLG welcomed David Sunday as a partner in its municipal law group. He will be based in the firm’s Waterloo Region office.

According to the firm’s press release, Sunday worked at Gowling WLG between 2007 and 2011 before going on to diversify his experience at another Ontario firm.

Catering to private and public sector clients alike, Sunday advises on a range of complex residential, commercial, industrial, and public sector land use and development issues. His work in this space encompasses acquisitions and dispositions, expropriation matters, land use controls, municipal approvals, subdivision and condominium issues, heritage matters and title uncertainties.

“Tenacious, strategic, and deeply committed to his clients’ success, David is known for his ability to get the job done — no matter the task at hand or how high the stakes,” said Bryce Kraeker, managing partner of Gowling WLG’s Waterloo Region office. “I have no doubt that he will be outstanding addition to our team, both locally and nationally, and a strong advocate for our clients.”

Outside of his law practice, Sunday remains active in Waterloo Region’s business community. He serves as a member of the Regional and Municipal Affairs Committee of the Greater Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce and the Housing Committee of Supportive Housing of Waterloo.
