Trudeau vows action, but unclear on ‘carbon pricing’ details

Federal Liberal party leader Justin Trudeau has pledged to introduce a carbon pricing regime across Canada should he become prime minister after the October federal election.

The pledge was scant on details, though, including whether such plans involve implementing either a federal carbon tax or a cap-and-trade system. The Liberal policy document states that there is no “one-size-fits-all solution” best suited for the diverse economies in each jurisdiction.
