SCC confirms extradition of suspects to U.S.

The Supreme Court has underscored deference and comity in extradition cases, affirming the surrender of two men to the United States to face trial for the brutal murders of a New Hampshire lesbian couple.

Ottawa sent David Caplin and Anthony Barnaby to the U.S. “within a couple of weeks” of the Supreme Court’s 9-0 oral judgments April 23, federal Department of Justice spokesperson Andrew Gowing told The Lawyers Weekly.
