Tyr LLP promotes one to partner, adds associate

Tyr LLP announced that Michael O’Brien has joined the partnership, while Alexandria Matic is the firm’s newest associate lawyer.

According to the firm’s press release, O’Brien is a trusted adviser with diverse litigation experience including civil, commercial, regulatory and class proceedings. In addition to his advocacy work on behalf of his clients, he also provides advice related to ethical compliance, conflicts of interest and lobbying law.

Prior to joining Tyr LLP in October 2019, O’Brien carried on a general commercial and civil litigation practice at McCarthy Tétrault LLP.

Matic joins after articling and practising at Stikeman Elliott where she developed diverse trial practice in international and domestic arbitration, class action defence, administrative law proceedings and a wide variety of commercial disputes.  

She obtained her juris doctor from the University of Toronto in 2018, where she pursued opportunities to advance human rights and develop her advocacy skills.
