Stikeman Elliott announced that two new counsel have joined the firm’s Montreal office, Aude Godfroy and Trevor Rowles.

According to a press release from the firm, Godfroy joins the banking group. Her practice will cover all the areas of financial services, with a focus on debt financings, on both the national and international stage. With over 15 years of experience, Godfroy advises clients from a wide range of industries, including the infrastructure and energy-power sectors, in a variety of corporate transactions, such as corporate financings, acquisition financings, project financings and capital call financings.

Rowles joins the corporate and knowledge management groups. In this hybrid role, Rowles will work closely with members of both groups. On the corporate side, he will provide hands-on support to the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) group by advising clients on a wide range of  M&A and private equity matters, including contract, transactional and drafting issues. On the knowledge management side, he will develop and maintain state-of-the-art precedents and participate in integrated initiatives relating to market developments, continuing legal education, business development and client service.

“We are pleased to welcome Aude and Trevor to Stikeman Elliott,” Montreal office managing partner, Warren Katz, said in the press release. “Aude joins us with unique expertise that will further strengthen our financial services practice, while Trevor’s dual role will enable us to keep staying at the forefront of emerging issues and legislative changes that impact our clients’ business.”
