Minister of Justice announces Judicial Advisory Committee appointments

Federal Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould announced appointments to the Judicial Advisory Committees (JACs) in seven jurisdictions across Canada. The JACs were reconstituted in accordance with the new process that the Minister introduced in October 2016.

The new process brought in a variety of changes including having committees reflect the diversity of Canada and ensuring an open selection process for the three public representatives on each committee so as to promote the representation of all Canadians in the appointment process.To be sure, the new appointments are well-represented...
