Former Hydro-Québec executive Desgagné joins Langlois lawyers

Langlois lawyers has announced that Pierre-Luc Desgagné has joined the firm's business law team, advising on matters of energy law, environmental law, governance, transportation law, governmental affairs, statutory construction and negotiation strategy.

Prior to coming to Langlois — one of the largest law firms in Quebec — for over 12 years Desgagné held a variety of positions at Hydro-Québec, most recently as vice-president corporate affairs and secretary general. He specialized in strategic planning in the areas of public affairs, governmental relations and the development of a distribution grid for electric transport, which quickly developed into the largest public recharging network in Quebec.

Earlier on he was the deputy chief of staff to former Quebec Premier Lucien Bouchard. Desgagné has always remained deeply involved in the community and currently sits on the board of directors and executive committee of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and serves as treasurer of Pro Bono Québec In 2016, he was a finalist for the Business Strategy and Achievement Award, one of the ZSA Quebec General Counsel Awards.
