New Court Challenges Program will bring expanded mandate

The federal government announced that it is bringing back and modernizing the Court Challenges program that was cancelled by the previous government.

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, and the Honourable Jody Wilson‑Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, said the revived Court Challenges program will provide financial aid to groups and persons asserting their rights and to hold the government accountable for defending the rights and freedoms of all Canadians.
