Canadian lawyers preparing for increased business as CETA passes in EU Parliament

After a heated and sometimes testy debate, the European Parliament in Strasbourg gave approval to the Canada-EU trade agreement.

The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) was adopted by a vote of 408-254, with 33 abstentions. The agreement will end nearly all tariffs on goods flowing between Canada and the European Union (EU). The EU is Canada’s second-largest trading partner after the United States.
