Court upholds moral damages award in sexual harassment case

The Ontario Court of Appeal has affirmed a decision to award moral damages to a woman who endured sexual harassment on the job and was later fired when she complained.

The court in Doyle v. Zochem 2017 ONCA 130, affirmed a Superior Court of Justice decision ordering Zochem Inc. to pay $60,000 in moral damages for the manner of its dismissal of Melissa Doyle.
