New insolvency partner joins Woods team

Woods announced that Sylvain Rigaud, an insolvency and restructuring lawyer, has joined the Montreal firm as partner. 

The firm’s press release notes that Rigaud has over 30 years of experience in insolvency, bankruptcy and restructuring matters. The experience he has acquired representing insolvent debtors, creditors, court officers, purchasers of distressed assets, interim lenders, directors and officers, boards of directors and shareholders, puts him in a position to offer practical and innovative advice tailored to the specific issues of each case.  

Rigaud holds a master’s degree in international business law and a bachelor’s degree in civil and common law. A regular speaker, he is also a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada, the Turnaround and Management Association, INSOL International, the American Institute of Bankruptcy and has served as chair of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Section of the Canadian Bar Association, Quebec Division.
