Appeal court says no Charter violation using information from undercover officer

The Court of Appeal in Manitoba found a judge was not wrong to refuse to exclude statements made by an accused to an undercover officer.

Bermard Hart was brutally beaten by Skyler Kyle Spence and three co-accused after getting into an argument at a residence in Thompson, Man., court documents show. Spence and a co-accused carried Hart out to the bush after breaking his arms to remove him from the residence. In the bush, Hart was stabbed and his neck was cut.
