B.C. law society pushes for more publicly funded legal aid

The Law Society of British Columbia unanimously voted on March 3 to support a vision for more publicly funded legal aid, which was proposed by the society’s Legal Aid Task Force.

The report, presented by task force chair Nancy Merrill, recommends establishing a Legal Aid Advisory Committee to further research, education and data collection on legal aid.
