IP expert Halwani joins Lenczner Slaght

Lenczner Slaght announced that Sana Halwani has joined the firm as a partner.

With degrees in biochemistry and bioethics, Halwani has significant experience in IP disputes in the life sciences, technology, energy and gaming industries. She is registered in both the U.S. and Canada as a patent agent and is a Canadian trademark agent.

Halwani has represented clients at all levels of the Ontario and federal courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada. She also has extensive experience in large cross-border disputes and has clerked for Justice Rosalie Abella of the Supreme Court of Canada.

Halwani is in demand as a speaker on IP, advocacy and diversity in the legal profession. She chairs the life sciences committee of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) and co-chairs IPIC's Women in IP Networking Group.
