Langlois team grows by five

Langlois Lawyers announced that Marie-Claude de Grandpré, Frédérique Duchesne, Aurélie Figuet and Élise Théorêt have joined the litigation group while lawyer and trademark agent Yann Canneva has joined the business law group.

According to the firm’s press release, de Grandpré works in civil and commercial litigation, particularly in construction and insurance law, namely in civil and professional liability. 

Duchesne’s practice covers banking law, insolvency and financial restructuring as well as tax litigation. More specifically, her banking law practice involves advising both financial institutions and public and private companies with respect to the enforcement of security and personal guarantees, the negotiation of standstill agreements and various insolvency-related issues.

Figuet practises in civil and commercial litigation, more specifically in the fields of civil and professional liability, as well as insurance and construction law. Figuet represents professionals, insurance companies, contractors and various stakeholders in the construction industry before all levels of Quebec’s civil courts.

Théoret is a lawyer in the litigation group. Her practice incorporates civil, penal and administrative litigation, as well as advice on environmental law issues. She is mainly involved in litigation matters in environmental law for private and parapublic companies. She represents clients in civil actions for contaminated lands, historical migration of contaminants, hidden defects, neighbourhood disturbances, injunctions and claims for damages.

Canneva is a lawyer and trademark agent. He handles various intellectual property (IP) matters including managing trademark, industrial design and copyright portfolios and the registration of such rights. He is specialized in implementing strategies for the acquisition, protection and defence of IP rights, as well as in IP litigation.
