Canadian law students call for suspension of Safe Third Country Agreement

Law students who participated in a research-a-thon in February have determined that Canada’s involvement in the Canada-U.S. Safe Third Country Agreement is a violation of the Charter. They’ve released a report based on their research that calls for the agreement to be suspended.

Working under the direction of the Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR), 838 students from 22 law schools across Canada researched the Safe Third Country Agreement in the context of the new immigration policies set by the Trump administration.
