Feds toughen rules for flying recreational drones

With the growing popularity of drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), has come an increasing concern for their safe use, especially around other aircraft, buildings and people.

To that end, on March 16, federal Transport Minister Marc Garneau announced tough new rules to govern the use of drones.

The regulations take effect immediately.
