Implementing a family law dispute settlement

Once the settlement in a family law dispute has been documented, it needs to be implemented. Where real property is to be transferred or secured, real estate counsel will have to prepare and register the necessary documents and obtain the consent of mortgagees, if required. Where the settlement includes an RRSP rollover, the appropriate forms must be executed and delivered to the financial institutions. Where bank accounts, investments, or personal property are to be divided, directions must be prepared and delivered to the appropriate third parties....
