Ontario boosts funding for court services in Niagara Region

In an effort to make Ontario’s criminal justice system more efficient, the Ministry of the Attorney General announced increased funding to the Bail Verification and Supervision Program (BVSP) for St. Catharines and Niagara Region.

Emilie Smith, senior co-ordinator, media relations with the Ministry, said the new funding for the bail program will provide more enhanced support to clients who require specialized services in the area.

“The program will provide a variety of supports such as working with clients to access housing, medical services, counselling and supervision...
