Loopstra Nixon adds partner, two associates

Loopstra Nixon LLP announced that Jessica Elie has joined the partnership and Tahir Khorasanee and Matthew Irish are new associates with the firm. 

According to the firm’s press release, Elie is the head of its wealth management group. Her practice focuses on all matters related to estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation.

Before joining the firm, Elie practised for several years at a boutique full-service firm in Toronto.

Khorasanee’s practice focuses on complex employment, labour and human rights disputes at all levels of court, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Ministry of Labour. He also practises commercial and complex insurance litigation.

He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association Council and the chair of its Young Lawyers Division. He was previously the vice-chair and regional representative of the Young Lawyers Division, a newsletter editor of the Alternate Dispute Resolution section and a newsletter editor of the Constitutional, Civil Liberties and Human Rights section of the Ontario Bar Association.

Irish practises civil litigation with a focus on municipal liability and insurance defence.

Before joining Loopstra Nixon LLP in 2021, he articled and worked for several years at a prominent insurance defence firm in London, Ont., and provided services to clients throughout southwestern Ontario. He then continued to hone his skills in a commercial litigation role with large full-service firm in Toronto for several years.
