Langlois Lawyers announced that it is joining forces with Séguin Racine Attorneys Ltd., a firm in Laval, Que., specializing in business transactions.

According to Langlois Lawyers’ press release, this merger, which will be finalized on Sept. 1, 2021, underscores Langlois Lawyers’ commitment to continue to grow while bolstering its business law team and its market presence. By combining Séguin Racine’s strengths with its own — particularly in the areas of debt and equity markets, mergers and acquisitions and taxation — Langlois Lawyers will maintain momentum and strengthen its ability to serve clients in Quebec, Canada, and abroad.

In addition to the entire Séguin Racine team of about 20 lawyers and employees, its three founding partners will immediately assume responsibility for the following practice areas at Langlois Lawyers:

Bruno Racine: Co-head, tax services

Serge M. Racine: Co-head, tax services

Pierre-Hubert Séguin: Head of capital markets, head of securities law, special adviser to the CEO.

“Over the past 20 years, Séguin Racine has completed complex transactions with a team of exceptional lawyers. We are now ready to take on new challenges together with the dynamic and talented professionals at Langlois. As our complementary teams continue to excel, our combined strengths will make us a force to be reckoned with in the field of transactional law in the Quebec business community,” Pierre-Hubert Séguin, partner at Séguin Racine Attorneys, said in the news release.

“This alliance will solidify our firm’s position in a constantly evolving market and cement our reputation as a leader in the Quebec business community. Moreover, it is a privilege to be associated with lawyers whose reputation for excellence is widely acknowledged,” added Jean-François Gagnon, CEO of Langlois Lawyers.
