The Canadian Bar Association, B.C. branch, is hosting a Dial-a-Lawyer Day on April 22 as part of Law Week celebrations.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (PDT), B.C. residents can call 604-687-3221 or 1-800-603-1919 for a free 15-minute consultation on the following: business, family, employment, immigration, tort and motor vehicle and wills and estates law.

The objective of the program is to aid with specific inquiries of the law, with the goal of eliminating the “mystique” associated with lawyers and the legal system.

In 2016, a group of 20 volunteer lawyers answered 370 calls for summary advice.
