She also regularly assists clients and families with guardianship proceedings under the Surrogate Court Procedure Act Article 17 and 17A, and the Mental Hygiene Law Article 81 adult guardianship in Supreme Court.

Stearns’ practice focuses on commercial real estate, including the representation of public REITs, private equity groups and investors in connection with the acquisition, sale, development, leasing, ground leasing and financing of a variety of asset classes. Additionally, he serves as the co-leader for the firm’s cannabis practice team where he advises cannabis companies and related businesses, including hemp and CBD-based companies, with issues related to legal cannabis business activities and real estate transactions.

Suttell provides corporate and regulatory counsel to health-care providers, including health systems, hospitals, medical groups, ambulatory surgery centres, urgent care centres and individual practitioners.
