Top court makes changes to Law Clerk Program

The Supreme Court of Canada has made changes to its Law Clerk Program.

The court has decided that going forward, clerkship candidates will be required to have either clerked in another court or have passed the bar before clerking for the Supreme Court. The court  hopes to implement this policy starting next year, although a transition period may be required.

Also, on a trial basis, justices of the Supreme Court may offer clerkships to up to four candidates per chambers. In the 2018-19 hiring process now...
