Dickinson Wright welcomes new partner, six associates

Dickinson Wright announced that Sanjukta Tole has joined the firm’s Toronto office as a partner. In addition, Alyssandra Antonangeli, Alex Dumais, Pejman (PJ) Esfandiari, Ray Luckiram, Dan Poliwoda and Lydia Yu have joined the Toronto office as associates.

According to the firm’s press release, Tole is an intellectual property (IP) lawyer who advises a variety of clients, from small and medium-size enterprises to Fortune 500 companies, on all facets of brand management, including trademark prosecution and enforcement. Tole also provides clients with strategic guidance on portfolio management, domain name and Internet-related disputes, expungement proceedings, trademark infringement actions, licensing agreements, IP due diligence, co-existence arrangements and technology/privacy contracts.

As an active member of the IP profession in Canada, Tole is a co-author of Hughes on Trademarks (LexisNexis Butterworths) and Trademarks Act & Commentary (LexisNexis) and writes chapters in Canadian Forms & Precedents as well as the Halsburys’ Laws of Canada (LexisNexis) on trademarks.

Antonangeli focuses her practice on litigation. She previously was an articling and summer student at the firm. Before joining Dickinson Wright, she graduated with a dual juris doctor from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. During law school, she completed a judicial externship with a magistrate judge in Michigan. She received her BA and a master of arts from the University of Toronto.

Dumais is building a broad practice in a variety of industries including gaming, corporate/commercial, sports and entertainment and intellectual property. Before joining Dickinson Wright, he completed his articling at Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission. He received his BA from University of Victoria and his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School.

As a corporate and commercial lawyer, Esfandiari focuses his practice on banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and general corporate and commercial matters. He received his BA from York University, his MBA from Schulich School of Business and his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Luckiram’s main areas of practice include securities and capital markets, regulatory compliance of public companies and equity/debt offerings. He continues to build his practice in M&A and emerging/high growth company law. He received his BA from Wilfrid Laurier University, his bachelor of laws from University of Sussex Law School, and a master of international civil and commercial laws from Leiden University Law School in the Netherlands.

Poliwoda has experience in a variety of matters involving corporate/commercial litigation, competition law, international trade, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, government affairs and public law.

He received his BA from Western University and his J.D. from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law.

Yu maintains a broad corporate and commercial practice with a focus on domestic and cross-border public and private company M&A , corporate restructuring and corporate governance. Prior to joining the firm, she practised with the litigation practice group at a leading regional firm and in the transactional practice groups at an international firm. LydiaYu received her J.D./BA from the Western University.
