Crawley MacKewn Brush promotes Markiewicz to counsel

Anna Markiewicz has been promoted to counsel at Crawley MacKewn Brush LLP. She will continue her practice in corporate/commercial and securities litigation.

Markiewicz has experience in a range of business litigation matters, with a focus on capital markets and the securities industry.

She has provided advice and advocated for clients with respect to corporate disputes and remedies, breaches of contract, employment disputes, breaches of fiduciary duties, business torts, directors’ and officers’ liability, plans of arrangement, professional negligence, claims against investment advisers (acting for both securities registrants and investors), regulatory investigations and proceedings before securities regulators.

Markiewicz has appeared before various courts in Ontario, including the commercial court, divisional court and the Court of Appeal.

She has advocated on behalf of clients in mediations and arbitrations of complex commercial disputes, including arbitrations under the JAMS Comprehensive Rules and Procedures in the U.S. and the ADR Chambers Arbitration Rules in Canada. She has also represented clients in enforcement and disciplinary proceedings before the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, the Ontario Securities Commission and the Alberta Securities Commission. She has acted for public and private corporations, directors, officers, insurers, not-for-profit organizations, trustees and individuals.
