Bill 27 expected to become law

On Feb. 28, 2017, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario took a step closer to adopting new legislation that will advance the province’s status as a destination of choice for international arbitrations. Bill 27, Burden Reduction Act, 2017, an omnibus bill that includes a new International Commercial Arbitration Act (new ICAA), has been ordered for third reading at Queen’s Park.
