Violent patients testing the health laws of Quebec

Hospital personnel have long had to deal with aggressive and violent patients. Statistics compiled by Quebec’s occupational health and safety commission indicate that, in 2013, 37.7 per cent of injuries caused by violence in the workplace were reported by healthcare professionals.

This is not surprising given that in any given year, half of these workers are victims of or witnesses to an act of violence while at work.
